Summary: Primal Mind Fuel Review
Primal Mind Fuel is a fairly popular nootropic stack that, despite having a decent selection of brain boosters, fails to deliver on its promises, due to its weak dosages that are hidden beneath a poorly dosed proprietary blend — that leads with caffeine to boot! All in all, Primal Mind Fuel is a glorified caffeine pill sprinkled with ineffective amounts of nootropic herbal extracts and brain-boosting compounds.

About Primal Mind Fuel
- Primal Mind Fuel is a “Natural Cognitive Support Formula” that’s primarily powered by caffeine.
- NeuroSmart® Proprietary Blend: though the ingredients are all smart choices for brain health and performance, the overall dosage here is too low for most of these ingredients (beyond caffeine) to work.
- CogniPlex® B-Vitamins: while it’s always a good idea to toss a few B-vitamins into your brain stack, Primal Mind Fuel’s B-vitamin complex is weak sauce — cheap inferior forms for B6 and B12, in particular.

Primal Mind Fuel’s formula split into two lists of ingredients: (1) CogniPlex B-Vitamins and (2) NeuroSmart Proprietary Blend. To be honest, neither of these look the great, in terms of quality. Certainly not a “premium” nootropic stack, as advertised.
Primal Mind Fuel Review: Ingredients
CogniPlex® B-Vitamins: Never a bad idea to include some B vitamins in your nootropic stack, though I’m unsure of CogniPlex, as this brand seems to use the cheaper forms of these B vitamins — e.g., pyridoxine HCl is worse than pyridoxal-5-phosphate, cyanocobalamin is worse than methylcobalamin. Nonetheless, these B vitamins should assist with dopaminergic and serotonergic neurochemical synthesis for improved mood. More on B Vitamins.
NeuroSmart® Proprietary Blend
Caffeine Anhydrous: It’s never a good sign when a proprietary blend opens with caffeine. Though a reliable energy and focus booster, caffeine isn’t exactly rare and worth investing in as a supplement. It’s already safe to say here: Primal Mind Fuel is mostly just a caffeine pill. More on Caffeine.
L-Ornithine HCl: Typically found in nootropic sleep supplements, L-ornithine does seem to possess anti-stress and anti-anxiety benefits. Perhaps the thinking here is that L-ornithine will complement the excitatory action of caffeine, but L-theanine would’ve been the smarter choice here.
L-Tyrosine: One of my favorite nootropics, especially after a sleepless night, L-tyrosine is a reliable mood and focus booster. However, you’ll need more than this blend’s 314.05 mg dosage for this ingredient alone to work to any noticeable degree. More on L-Tyrosine.
Theobromine: The “love drug” associated with dark chocolate, theobromine is a mood-boosting caffeine-like compound with notable nootropic effects. Theobromine is believed to boost circulation to the brain and body.
Rhodiola Rosea Extract: One of my favorite nootropic adaptogens (that I’m currently consuming as I type this, along with maca powder), Rhodiola rosea is best known for its anti-stress properties (or, more accurately, its stress regulation properties). But, again, it’s doubtful that Primal Mind Fuel supplies enough here for you to reap this herb’s benefits. More on Rhodiola Rosea.
Bacopa Monnieri Extract: A top-tier herbal nootropic, Bacopa monnieri is associated with improved memory and all-around high-order cognitive processes, thanks to Bacopa’s acetylcholine benefits. More on Bacopa.
D-Glucuronolactone: Often found in energy drinks, ostensibly to improve attention and athletic performance, glucuronolactone lacks the scientific research to really warrant its marketed claims; though I suspect there’s a good reason why athlete-oriented supplements include this, given the high stakes of athletic performance.
Huperzine-A: A well-researched acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, hup-A is a potent nootropic that works (for memory support) in tiny doses. So, unlike the other ingredients in this proprietary blend, there’s a good chance that there’s enough huperzine-A here, though it should be noted that this is a fairly common ingredient in nootropic supplements. More on Huperzine-A.

Primal Mind Fuel Review: Formula Analysis
Off the bat, it’s safe for me to say: Primal Mind Fuel is a weak supplement.
And it really all comes down the formula’s proprietary blend, which is a cheap trick in the supplement game. Essentially, what many of these supplement manufacturers do is cram several impressive ingredients into a poorly dosed proprietary blend that obscures each ingredient’s (likely low) individual dosage.
In fact, we know the ingredients’ dosages are low, because the proprietary blends overall dosage (314.05 mg) is low, as is. Too low to achieve Primal Mind Fuel’s advertised benefits, which are:
- Focus
- Memory
- Mental Performance
- Productivity
Aside from “Mental Performance” being a sort of catch-all filler term, these are generally what you hope for when taking a nootropic supplement: better focus, memory, and productivity — ideally with some anxiety- and stress-relief.
Primal Mind Fuel doesn’t quite achieve these benefits, at least not to any significant degree beyond what your morning coffee can do.
This isn’t to say that the ingredients in Primal Mind Fuel’s formula couldn’t accomplish these effects. However, I’m unwilling to (and neither should you) give this product the benefit of the doubt — i.e., that this proprietary blend actually works — given that the first ingredient listed in the blend is caffeine. This means that caffeine is the highest dosed of the blend’s meager 314.05 mg dosage.
Ultimately, there’s just not enough capsule space here for this formula to work overall. You could solve this problem by just doubling and tripling down on the serving, but then you’d be doubling and tripling down on the formula’s caffeine content, which isn’t something you necessarily want to do to boost smart brain performance.
All in all, Primal Mind Fuel isn’t worth the investment.

Best Energy Supplements (Without Caffeine)
The Pros
- For what it’s worth, caffeine is a reliable mental performance enhancer, even if it’s one of the easiest brain boosters to come by.
The Cons
- Proprietary blends are a cheap tactic for supplement manufacturers to obscure their weak, poorly dosed formulas. This is likely (*observably*) the case with Primal Mind Fuel.
- Caffeine being the leading ingredient is a bad sign for the actual nootropic potential of this formula.
- As suggested by the cheap, inferior B-vitamin forms, Primal Mind Fuel is an overall poor quality product. Just not worth the investment.
Pricing
- $33.95 for 30 capsules, a 30-day supply
- $1.13 per serving
Primal Mind Fuel also sells at a slight discount if you buy more than one bottle per order: 2 bottles for 6% off, 3 bottles for 12% off, 4 bottles for 18%. Also, there’s a subscribe & save auto-ship option that grants you 20% off and free shipping, wherein you can choose to be auto-charged every month, two months, or three months.
Who Takes Primal Mind Fuel?
Primal Mind Fuel is a general brain health and performance supplement for a general audience. While the product’s name sounds a bit sporty and meatheady, akin to Alpha Brain, Primal Mind Fuel is a fairly standard caffeine-dominant nootropic stack.
Where to Buy It
Primal Mind Fuel is sold through the company’s website. Alternatively, you can buy Primal Mind Fuel on Amazon.
Conclusion: Does Primal Mind Fuel Work?
Not really. While the ingredients listed in Primal Mind Fuel’s formula could compose a decent nootropic stack, this supplement simply doesn’t supply enough to work. Instead, Primal Mind Fuel resorts to a common shady tactic in the supplement game by hiding its ingredient dosages beneath a proprietary blend that leads with caffeine.
Essentially, Primal Mind Fuel is a caffeine pill, creating the illusion of being something *more* than your morning cup of joe. You can do much better than nootropic supplement.
